Attitude has profound power

Track Selling defines attitude as the idea that positive thoughts produce positive results; negative thoughts produce negative results.

The famous philosopher William James observed that the greatest discovery of his generation was that "people can change their lives by changing their attitude."

The negative thinker's career has a downward spiral. You find negative behavior feeding on negative thoughts. The following two stories illustrate the importance of attitude.

1. A Russian railway worker accidentally locked himself inside a frozen-food boxcar. Unable to get the attention of his fellow workers, he resigned himself to dying, and started writing his thoughts on the inside of the boxcar walls. "It's getting very cold", he wrote and continued, "it's very hard to breathe", "I know I'm going to die", "these will probably be my last thoughts", and sure enough, those were his last words. Just as he had predicted, he died.

However there is absolutely no medical reason for his death. The freezing mechanism of the boxcar was broken. The actual temperature had not dropped below 56 degrees Fahrenheit. The boxcar was well ventilated, so he could not have suffocated. He has found the next morning, so he could not have died from hunger or thirst. That railway worker was simply the victim of his own thoughts: all negative.

2. On a positive note, a 19 year-old boy in Romania made medical history by living for 11 days without food or water. He was buried under a ten-story apartment building during an earthquake. When he was discovered, people asked him how he'd managed to survive. "I slept much of the time", he told them, "but when I was awake, I never doubted for an instant that I would be rescued. Every waking minute of those 11 long days, I was positive I would come out alive."

Positive thoughts produce positive results so regularly feed your mind positive thoughts, look for the positive in any negative situation, take action to improve a negative situation, and network with successful people.

Good luck and good selling.
